Sara Sheffield was the first wife of Maxwell Sheffield, the mother of Magaret, Brighton, and Grace Sheffield, and is a minor character on The Nanny.
Prior to the series' beginning, Sara had died of unknown causes. Before Fran entered the Sheffields' lives, Sara's death left an emotional strain on the Sheffield house, particularly between Maxwell and his children.
She is played by Bess Armstrong
