Jonah is the son of Broadway and television producer Maxwell Sheffield and nanny Fran Fine Sheffield. He is named after a maternal great-great-grandfather. Jonah is the fraternal twin brother of Eve Sheffield and younger-half brother of Maggie Sheffield, Brighton Sheffield and Grace Sheffield. His paternal grandparents are Elizabeth and James Sheffield. His maternal grandparents are Sylvia Fine and Morty Fine. Jonah and his sister were born in Manhattan, New York City, but moved to Southern California with their parents and other family members shortly after their birth.
